Designed as a model for practical and replicable approaches to sustainable construction, the program integrates environmental education directly within active building sites. During a recent site visit, the Green Construction Organization verified that the project had met all key sustainability targets:

  • Minimising construction waste
  • Improving energy and water efficiency
  • Using recycled and low-impact materials
  • Delivering on-site environmental training to industry professionals

The site functioned as a living education platform, engaging tradespeople, site supervisors, and apprentices in toolbox talks, guided walkthroughs, and live demonstrations of best practices. These activities ensured that sustainability principles were not only applied but also actively transferred to the broader construction workforce.A person in a hard hat holding a certificate

His dedication significantly enhanced the educational impact of the program.

Dr. Larry Xiancun Hu, program instructor and lead assessor, presented the awards and praised the initiative:

“This project successfully translated sustainability policy into real-world practice. It not only met environmental targets but also prioritised education and knowledge-sharing in a way that can influence future projects across the state.”

The Green Construction Organization commends all contributors to the program and looks forward to continued collaboration with builders, educators, and stakeholders to drive sustainable transformation across the construction industry.
